A friend of mine has asked me to replace the dc jack on his laptop and which I don't have a problem doing. The issue I'm facing is that he tried to sort it out himself and left the board in a bit if a mess. After removing all the solder from the jack and taking it off, it seems that the area surrounding it is rather burnt. I'm surprised he could get any solder on it at all. It also seems the copper coating of the plus terminal has been removed too. Is there any easyish solution for this or no hope.
