Adventure games

Hi,

As a wee lad I used to love playing adventure games such as monkey island, day of the tentacle, sam & max, leisure suit larry etc.

I've not seen a good adventure game in years. Are there any fairly recent ones ?

The genre's developed a fair bit since the old days if you're referring to point and click... I'm sure theres a few out there, but sadly they seem to shy away from the limelight.

They've done a remake of monkey island 2, spruced it up a bit. Might be worth a look.

Double fine have a classic point n click in the works call Double Fine adventure

Have a look over the list, and the newer remakes of Monkey Island are quite good IMO

People seem to like the new Sherlock Holmes game that's on offer at the moment, you may want to check The Walking Dead it's great and Dreamfall games.

Yes its £8 so its fairly cheap been considering it myself, it went on sale for 50% off last time, now its 66%, next time around it'll be 75% lol Hmmm buy now or wait for it to be even cheaper?

Walking Dead is excellent, one adventure game i' played recently was from yesterday It was ok, sometimes pops up in a steam sale from time to time.. picked it up for £3.50 I think it was, price of a pint, game lasted about 5 hours, pint doesnt last me 10 minutes. lol

I bought it because i like Sherlock Holmes stuff and it looks pretty good to be honest.(it has 8.8 user score on metacritic....people that play/played the game are liking it which is more important than reviews for me.)

The Syberia games supposed to be good too but i haven't played them yet.

Syberia is very good, I haven't played the sequel but it's in my Steam library amongst a myriad of other games that need playing. Lost Horizon is a recent Point & click that I've played, pretty good game in the spirit of the old Broken Sword games.

I've been playing the Broken Sword games on android recently. Always worth a look.

^^^Would you count Machinarium as an adventure game?...I would say more a puzzle game tbh

just finished the original broken sword on android
really looking forward to broken sword 5, looks awesome!
