Adverts on Youtube videos

Is it only me or have these seemed to increase rapidly over the past year? A lot of videos now have a least two adverts before you even watch it, each being 3+ seconds, some with ~10 seconds ads.

A few years ago there were no adverts apart from on things like film trailers

Does everyone who uploads of video include adverts or something? I've got to the point now where if I see an advert I close the video and search for another or on another website to find what i'm looking for

uBlock Origin cuts a lot of adverts.

WOW! What is this wizardry. I added the uBlock plugin on Mozilla and its blocked 33 ads already!

Why bother with Youtube premium if uBlock stops most / all of the ads?

Is there any way to block adds on the YouTube app running on iOS?

I wiuld like to kniw this too, uBlock for iOS or something similar exist? I can’t see it does

It's how the content creators I regulary watch get paid. Blocking ads stops their ad revenue from yourself, so I pay for premium to ensure they get at least something for their time.

If I regulary watch a specific channel I would happily contibute directly to them. No doubt the advertising company take the majority cut
