Adverts playing in the background - driving me insane!

For about two months now I've had random adverts playing in the background (just the sound) and I have no idea how to stop them. This happens regardless of what programs I have running.

I've done virus scans, used Malware Bytes, Spybot, etc. but still it remains.

Spybot brings up a tracking cookie by the name of Right Media, but every time I try to remove it, it still appears the next time I scan. I've wiped cookies from Firefox and IE but with no success.

What on earth could it be? I'm absolutely tired of listening to music and having a Tesco or Olay make-up advert interrupt me.

What are you using to listen to the music?

Thankfully I haven't had that one yet. I think the laptop would have gone out the window.

Hmm, tricky, are you internet streaming a radio channel or listening to stuff on your own hard drive?

What programs do you have installed?

When you was scanning, was this in safe mode?
