Hi all,

Would like some advice for a build, best bang for bucks. £1000 budget (not including monitor/keyboard/mouse)

Criteria:
Quality Case
Quiet
Stability
Storage
Bluray Playback

Other than web surfing and watching movies, programming and Photoshop/Illustrator will be its main purpose.

Dont play games, so graphics card doesn't need to be bleeding edge.

Cheers
Rob

If you want an SSD for your OS and Apps you would need to add about £90-100 to the cost above. I'd go for either the Crucial 64GB or the Intel 80GB personally

I'm sure people will want to refine the list above but its a starter for 10

Asus P6T / Gig UD5
6gb Patriot Viper
Intel X-52M G2
Samsung 1Tb F3
Coolermaster ATCS 840
LG or Pioneer Optical
Sapphire 5850

Franksi is about spot on really...I might consider upping the drive to a 1TB Samsung F3 instead of a 500GB though =)

Yeah there are 2 x F3s there - one to short stroke for OS and Apps and 1 for storage. Probably swap that for 1 x 500GB and 1 x 1TB for storage?
