I've been ordering parts over the last 2 months each time I've been paid and currently have the below:

Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM
XFX Pro 550W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Corsair Carbide 200R Compact ATX Case - Black
GeIL EVO Leggera 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GEL38GB1600C9DC)
Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2)
LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Total : £644.52

Next time I order (shortly) I'll be ordering Windows 7 and Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 motherboard. I also need an SSD, HDD and Monitor but unsure what's best to go with. Would appreciate some ideas if possible?

Thanks all.

You can try the windows 8 enterprise (evaluation edition) for 3 months on a free trial. Gives you more cash for components now and you can make an informed decision over what OS to buy down the line ;)

THIS SSD has £15 cashback at the mo. It has a larger capacity and is faster than it's smaller brother. The Toshiba SSD is a great shout as it has superb read and write speeds so is a great alternative to the Samsung 840 Pro

He already has a 7950 and a PSU that won't handle xfire, so where are you going with this??

Just out of interest is it best if I get the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 mobo instead? I can always upgrade the PSU and get a second GPU in future if needed.

I assume dual can run 1080p.

Getting a Z77X will let you run xfire, its worth getting if it's in your budget.

7950 Xfire will give you massive FPS at 1080p but really comes into its own above 1080p..

I can afford a bit extra and get the z77x so will go with that. A new PSU and 7950 will have to be introduced a bit later on though.

Cheers for your help Doomedspeed
