Advice buying first car

Do you need 5 doors and 2 full size rear seats?

What about the last revision Toyota Celica 140? It'll be reliable, it's quicker than the Focus and more fuel efficient. It'll have a better driving position than the Focus as well. Looks are a bit marmite though.

Potentially big engine problems unfortunately, same story as the mr2 of the same age.

I think not having a turbo that can cost £500 to replace is still cheaper.

Ultimately I agree, which less selective quoting would have shown anyway. My opinion on the 2 litre focus still stands - it's a waste of time

Whats the point in getting a GTI turbo for 1st car anyways? It will cost *****oads to run with under 30 mpg all the time and the clutches in them are **** requiring the whole clutch AND dual mass flywheel to be changed atr a cost of over £1k...

I had the 1.8t engine in my old Passat and even chipped to 180 bhp it was a soft feeling gutless motor.

Ford Focus have always been highly rated an d a 2L16v for a first car will be well powerful and fun for ages...

If u go for a 1.8t gti u might as well go for an Astra VXR for the cost differences to run...
