Advice, could this be a driver problem?

Hi guys.

i have a game of Fallout 3 going atm. I am currently around 20 hours in and i am suddenly getting complete freezes about 30 seconds after i load my savegame.

I do not think it is anything to do with load order, as i have been using the same mods for the whole game and have had it running very stable (for Fallout 3 anyway)

The only thing that i can think of is that i recently chaged my GPU from a 5850 to a 6950. I did play it for around 2 hours with the 6950 with no problems, but now it is doing it every time with all of my savegames.

I have realised that i did not remove the 5850 drivers completely, so do you think that it could be the issue?
What is the best way to remove the old drivers?

Yeah, removed the old driver and now it works fine again.

Never had a driver issue that affected a game as much. Should have thoguht of it earlier tbh. i was tearing my hair out and then suddenly thought 'hold on, i haven't removed the old drivers'
