Hi,

I previously posted a few months back but then life got in the way and I got distracted... anyway I'm now back and after some further advice (as my budget has changed slightly, as no doubt technology/price has, too) please.

I would like;
  • A build optimised for gaming (I play most genres but most commonly FPS/RPGs)
  • 27" inch 1440p monitor (after hours of reading, I finally decided against 4K and think 27" is the biggest monitor I'd like)
  • 1.5-2TB of storage
  • The ability to add another graphics card (SLI?) in a few years time when 4K becomes more affordable/cards can fully handle it, if possible
  • A good gaming keyboard and mouse (if there's a discernible difference from the £5 versions I've got now!)
  • A total cost of £3k, all in

I don't have any;
  • need for photo/video editing or CAD etc.
  • noteworthy hardware knowledge or PC-building experience (so would prefer it to be pre-built for me)
  • preference over what the case looks like
  • interest in VR at this stage
  • parts on my existing build I could use (except for sub/speakers)

Also due to work/annual leave, if ordered I'd like it delivered either Monday 5th Dec (if feasible) or between 19th - 23rd Dec. What is the usual time to dispatch/build and/or is it possible to specify a preferred date range for delivery when ordering?

Anything else you need to know then please ask and thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Thanks for your responses so far - the 5th isn't a make or break so if by getting a customised build means I can get something slightly more suited to my wants but have to wait a bit that's fine - I'm probably at least 5 years overdue an upgrade so another couple of weeks won't make much difference!

On the assumption of a 1 week lead time for a customised build, I'll carry on doing a bit more research (and hopefully get a few more replies/suggestions here) with the view of placing an order the tail of next week. Conversely, if an express build does actually turn out to the best option for what I want then I'll just delay my order until a bit nearer the time I want it delivered.

Thanks again.
