I am hoping there are some Business Analysts on this forum as I am looking for some advice ahead of n interview I have tomorrow. Well its not an interview as such but more I have to give a 20 minute presentation based on a brief provided by the company.

It’s been a while since I did any presenting and while since I worked in an agile BA environment and was looking for advice on how others would tackle this brief?

The Brief

Customer feedback suggests that Company X should add the ability for a user to upload images for use in testing campaigns because it is rare that a marketer is able to place images directly on their own company’s public web server.

It has yet to be determined what the user experience will be for the image upload process.

Your task is to present the stages and process you would follow to research then write a user story detailing the change proposed. Writing the user story is not necessary for this exercise.

Resources Available to you

The following people would be available to support your work:
• Product Managers
• VP Product
• Users internally at Maxymiser (client services)
• Users in our client’s organisations
• Engineers, Technical Architects
• VP Engineering
• Sales Manager
• Sales Person Responsible for this deal
• Product Marketing
• User Interface Designer

Thanks :)

Current process, how it works, from a technical stand point and user experience point. You want to get to a point where you can detail the benefits of adding this feature.

Im thinking of starting of by going over the Agile process and introducing the steps I would expect to go through. From there I am going to break it down in stages of what information/questions I would ask and to whom.

Looking to keep the presentation short, maybe 5 or 6 slides with bullet points and the odd diagram to keep me right when talking. Nervous just thinking about it :(

^^ should do!

And clearly emphasise the "stages and process" and make it last no more than 15 minutes, 5 minutes for questions!

Thanks for the feedback, have come up with 10 very clean slides with clean and simple design and limited bullet points. Hopefully will give me enough to chat about.

Agreed. As it's all process driven, I think they'll be much more looking for someone who knows what to ask and how to structure things, rather than an answer, as there is no right answer in a case study like that really.

Stuff like writing user stories, requirements gathering etc i'd say for a BA role.

Hopefully you know about the three tells with presentations

Tell them what your going to talk about (Agenda)
Tell them the detail (Content)
Tell them what you have told them (Summary)

Very effective in making those attend remmeber more of the presentation.

Best of Luck!
