Hi there.

I am trying to find some local 2-player games for my son (as opposed to multi-player online).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated - 2-player screen games, on the same screen, do not seem to be anywhere near as popular as when I was a lad (I am an old git - I got a Game Gear for my 7th birthday).

Thank in advance.

I'm sure there's a good few, but when this question comes up each time i can't help but recommend the same thing, Halo MCC.

Yes it's not everyone's cup of tea, and some consider it over hyped, but reality is it has split screen co-op campaign and other modes too. There are numerous "mods" available on the xbox also allowing lots of fun without messing about with actual modding, just view the file browser and install. Not many games out there that allow you to hijack a vehicle, pickup your mate/kid or 2, and go do some jumps while spraying bullets everywhere.

It takes two is good fun. Worms. Gang beasts (crazy amount of fun playing this wirh my ten year old nephew). Human fall flat. Unravel/2. Minecraft. Any fighting game. Racing games.

Among us. Supermarket shriek looks fun - not tried this yet.

Pretty sure all of these ae son game pass tok.

Door kickers action squad is a lot of fun, can get it on the PC as well usually for very cheap, the xbox version almost never goes on sale though

It takes two.
Unravel 2.
Any given Lego game. I like the Indy titles and the marvel superheroes.
F1 2021 is local split screen as far as I am aware.
Never Alone
Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2
Lara Croft GoL and ToO
Diablo 3
Gauntlet (I think)
A way out
PGA Golf
Little big planet 3
Sack boy
Any FIFA game.
Rayman Legends
The Trine games.
Super bomber man.

There’s loads of Indy stuff too. I think Broforce is 2 player coop, as an example.

Also most fighting games are local 2 player.

If he likes football the xbox 360 version of Sensible World of Soccer the greatest 2 player game of all time!

I play local coop with my boys quite often. Currently playing Minecraft dungeons and worms. Diablo 3 is another decent one as is A Way Out.
