Ok am building a new machine from scratch and i want to avoid past mistakes so I want to ask what case is appropriate? I want a full tower so am considering the Lian-Li PC V2000 but would it be noise efficient and tool free? I'll be having water cooling for cpu,gpu but still I guess there will be some noise either from the Q-tec PSU or from side fans. Also any other good but cheaper case for let's say £100? I have 4 drives so i want it to have at least 6 bays at the front and be tool free.

CA-016-AK Akasa Eclipse 62 Thermally Advanced Side Panel (CA-016-AK)
£19.50 £19.50
CA-005-AK Akasa Eclipse 62 Aluminium Case - No PSU (CA-005-AK)
£69.95 £69.95
CA-005-SK FSP Sparkle AX500-A Blue Storm 500W ATX2.0 PSU (CA-005-SK)
£49.95 £49.95
Subtotal £139.40
VAT £24.40
Total £163.80

Something like this, it isnt full tower but it has space for 7 HDs. The side panel aids cooling and it is one of the better cases for keeping quiet as it only needs 2 low airflow (and low noise) 120mm fans. Also a decent PSU, so you don't blow your new rig up with the Q-tec.

The akasa one has 4 x 5.25" external bays which is not enough.I wanna have room to spare. how many fans the lian requires?

The Q-tec is a 650W though:eek:

Ok Q-tec will get into retirement though it serves my current P4 2.8Ghz admirably. Which PSU of all is REALLY quiet? am a bit paranoid with noise

As for the case am hesitating to buy a midi tower since i want to water cool and therefore i need some room. In addition i like things big :D

most of the brand of PSU that have been reccomended to you are cooled by a 120mm fan so noise shouldnt be a problem with either.

The FSP 700w that I own is inaudible, as is a Silverstone strider, but I hear (or not as the case is) very good things about the Seasonics for low noise.

I want a PSU that is backed up with warranty as I would want to return it if it is noisy meaning that if I can hear it at the end of a normal room, it is noisy . How about the OCZ GameXStream 700w ?

As for the case I shall go with the Lian-Vi 2000 as browsing through the posts people seem to be satisfied with it
For the Q-tec i had reservations and now i decided to kill it for a tagan one.

Just saw that the Lian 2000 is D:625mm which is a bit long for my computer table. Any other case as good as Lian but a little bit smaller? Gotta be full tower

The G70 is 595mm deep. How deep is your desk?

My desk is 55cm deep. It doesn't matter if its exceeding it though it gets on my way at times. Do have in mind that the PSU shouldn't be touching the back of the desk. There must be some space there for the fan flow. I would prefer a full tower which isn't more than 50cm deep.
