Hi,
I purchased the FiFa18 pc game for my son via download with a key, this downloaded OK but game will not play. I tried using an old PC - Dell Optiplex 7010, intel core i5-3470 @ 3.2GHZ, 4GB of RAM, 64 bit on windows 10. I think maybe it needs a dedicated graphics card. I get error such as "DirectX function 'adaptor->Enumoutputs(0, ppOutput)' failed with DXGI_ERROR_NOT FOUND ('when calling IDXGIObject::Get private data ......etc
Am I wasting my time with the PC and either buy a good graphics card or buy a dedicated games console as my son who is 10 just wants to play FIFA 18 or 17.
Thanks

For all around gaming, a console, which is a dedicate machine for that purpose, would be your best bet.
Despite being someone who only play on my PC, I need to be honest and recognise that playing on PC is expensive business. Eventually upgrading GPUs, plus the complexity of updating drivers and sorting out few issues when they happens. I'm saying this considering the age of your son, but I would be more likely to suggest a PC for gaming if he was a bit older.
Most of the users here don't mind spend few minutes here and there to sort out few niggles, but those few minutes would equal frustration for a 10 year old.

I5 3470 is still fine for most games, but would need 8gb ram minimum for most games and a graphics card of some sort. If you have a power supply that supports it and the space in your case an rx 570 is probably the best performance for the money at the lower end. Could also look at 1050 or 1650 which offer ok performance and don't need the additional power. There are also low profile versions that will fit in slim cases. But they tend to be very expensive for the performance you get even 2nd hand :( there is also a 1030 which would likely work, but yeah even worse performance per pound and the ddr4 version is garbage and should be avoided.
