Hi all,
i am in need of some advice regarding my home network solution,
i am about to move to a new house and i have discovered that the previous
owner had a fiber installation at the property and there is a fiber box in our downstairs cupboard,
now my existing network is some old 5 year old Net-gear router
which is getting a bit long in the tooth
so my question is what is the best way to go:
A: New Router which type ? and will it be compatable with the fiber unit installed at the property (currently i dont know what make model that is.
B: do i need 1gb router and cat 6 cables
C: does cat 6 cable work with xbox360 ps4 SKY etc etc?
can i use power line adapters with cat 6 or cat 5e ? and how much will it effect my speeds?
i will be wanting to have good speeds for online gaming, using on demand
and there will be 2 pc's hooked up.
i am not working from home or doing anything any more serious then that
any help/advice appreciated.
