Ive got X2 Gb of the Geil RAM, see sig. I really do need to pick up some more as its so cheap nowadays. My pc is in sig.

So what are the best deals around guys? Would be great if I could keep my RAM and use that and some more. Would probably look at a min of 4GB now.
Iam running vista X64.

Thanks all :)

OCZ are decent make, but theyre not supported by asus and some people report compatibility issues, I use the 2 and havent had problems but others have, that corsair is just as good if not better and on this week only so good price
re money spent last year, unfortunately thems the breaks, if you really dont want to lose your value you can try and find the same spec gskill stuff and go upto 4 gig, but with prices as they are now id just ditch it and write it off, sorry

Yeah the 8500 is faster but I think your CPU will bottleneck it, depends if youre keeping this base system a while and likely to upgrade CPU then yeah its prob worth getting 8500, if your next upgrade is likely to be i7, and therefore DDR3 then just save the money and stick with the 6400

Well is the i7 the upgrade from the E6600? I have read a few things on the i7 saying its very good. If its worth the money(how much is it) I would like to upgrade that at some point, maybe later this year. So does the i7 take DDR3? Not sure if my board does tbh.

no thats it, the i7 is the CPU but uses completely new platform, new mobo, new cpu and new DDR3 RAM, so to upgrade to i7 would cost at least £600, youd prob want a new gfx card too. Your other option is to stick with mobo youve got and later in year add a more poweful CPU like an E8xxx and a better gfx card like a 4850 or 4870, but as I say it all depends on when youre planning on doing it and how much youd have to spend at the time
