Hi,
I've put aside a little money for a new PC that I'm thinking of building sometime after Christmas. I'm a gamer, and I'll have about £1000 +/- £200 to play with, although I don't neccessarily need to spend that much so if you can suggest a bargain please do. I was wondering if anybody could suggest a good set up for me to run games with, inside of the £600-1200 price range.

Thanks a lot.
Matt:p

While you could certainly spend less than this, this particular rig is an excellent one. It features fast 7200 RPM disks in RAID 0, an excellent GPU, a next-gen mobo that should be great for overclocking the quad core processor, cooled by that massive Zalman, and excellent RAM. The sound card is overkill unless you have good speakers.

There's enough money left over in case you don't already have a 20+" monitor. :)

Welcome to the forums.

Wow, that looks great. Exactly the type of advice I was looking for. Thanks a lot, and thank you for the welcome. I'd love to see more suggestions, keep 'em coming :D.

Matt.

You could probably spend less and not notice the difference, I think a lot of people on here waste a lot of money just buy buying something alittle extra. Depends how hardcore of a gamer your going to be in my eyes because I bet you could get away with a £700 system and still do the same things as something higher priced.

No, money could be saved all over the place. X38 does have a nice feature set though so if it's still 300 pounds under budget I think that it's an affordable luxury.

Manymatt, will you be overclocking?
