Hey,

So this is my setup, and my question will follow

Speedtouch 780 Router attached to 3 PCs and another Switch in another room.

The switch in this room is attached to 1 PC, an Xbox 360 and will soon be attached to a Gigabit NAS.

Because i'm going to be using a Gigabit NAS, im going to upgrade the Switch to a Gigabit Switch (i have a Gigabit PHY in my PC).

Now, i want my computer and Gigabit NAS to communicate at Gigabit speeds. Will it be possible for it to do this all on the same interface, or will I be required to use a seperate interface for Gigabit communication with the NAS for jumbo frames etc?

beaut.

im still kinda worried these gigabit NAS' arent all they're cracked up to be. I may just get an external firewire drive and sell the two internal ones.

What makes you say that about the NAS drive??

My Mybook WEII is gigabit, yet it only reads and writes at ~7 and 5MBs respectively.
From what I've read 15MB/s is about as fast as you can get from 'domestic' NAS boxes.
As a comparison, transferring files between my two PCs through a gigabit network is as fast as my HD ~60MB/s
