have [posted this a couple of places on here and not had much response so thought i'd try in here...

Built my system yesterday all parts bought from OcUK and when i switched it on the display showed blocks and lines all over the screen, my computer spec is:

HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X PLUS Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **Supplied with Battlefield 3, Dirt 3 & Deus Ex PC Games**

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive

Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Must add i plugged in an old graphics card, (9800GT and it works fine no blocks etc on screen) have given the card to a friend of mine who will hook it up to his system tonight to see if he gets the same problem... in the meantime, any ideas?

From that it seems to be your GPU, see what your mate says, i can't think it'd be anything else if it works fine with the 9800GT.

well, my mate plugged it into his machine (already had the same card in there) getting white lines, computer locks up, tried 3 different drivers, computer runs slow, games dont run, so going to send it back...

Yeah, that is a card fault for sure. I have seen a number of these cases relating to the 6950's recently. Hmmm...

I hope it gets sorted quickly for you, so you can get gaming :).
