Ive currently got the following system spec.

AMD 4800 CPU
AN8 SLI-DELUXE MB
2 GB DDR
XT1800 XT 512MB

Anyway Im thinking of selling it all to buy a new am2 mb and appropriate ddr2 etc, whats the perfomance of these am2s like at the moment and realisitcally what would I get for the four components listed above

Cheers in advance for any advice.

Chris

there has been loads and loads of talk on the subject of am2 recently you only have to do a quick search ob the forums to see that. However, if you want a summary without bothering to look yourself, then dont do it. its a waste of money. AM2 is a progression of s939, not the revolution that conroe is. if you want to upgrade a 4800 (and i cant think why) then save your money and wait for conroe.

dont know about monetary value for your bits n pieces...

however am2 atm only has around 5% performance increase...

I would wait until prices drop ok that means if you then sold your parts you prob would get less...but at the moment as its early days my advice is to wait until you commit to am2

For 5% increase is it really worth it?
