Advice needed - after new point and click

I'm after replacing our point and click Canon SD500 (US version of Ixus I believe) as we've had it for a good 6+ years and is a little dated on features now.

Aside from good quality pictures, our main need is to be able to do widescreen 16:9 video (preferably HD but not too fussy).

I quite like Canon but would consider any brand.

Budget around £300.
