Hi All,

I used to have a zotac gtx 275 AMP edition, until recently when i accidentally dropped some tea on it :/
It was not a lot, only a few drops fell on the backside of the card but was enough to damage it, seems to work for a bit after a restart before there is a burning smell and screen goes off...

Anyways thats enough backstory.. main reason I am here is that I need a bit of help on deciding what to get next. I dont really want to spend more then 150-160 since I am also planning on getting a decent cheap cooler for my cpu so that I can overclock it a bit, I can maybe even go as far as 175ish for the card depending on which cooler I get, my budget is basically maximum of 200 for card , cooler and thermal compund etc)

I was looking at the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560Ti OC WindForce 2X :

Its on a discounted price so seems pretty good.
My main concern is if I should go for it or forget about OC'ing the cpu and spend a bit more and get the Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-100-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411

I want to be able to use this card for a long time, I am playing latest games and would want to be able to play with good visuals, performance etc on a 1920 x 1080 res.

p.s I have a good psu , and got a i7 920 which is running on stock at the moment.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

the 7850 is a very good OC'er by all accounts and will totally beast the 560ti
having said that, 660ti is also due out in the next couple of weeks which will probably be out of your price range but may force a drop on the 7850

your CPU will happily drive a 7850 so I wouldn't worry about overclocking it too much right now, wait till you next have 30-40 quid to spend on a cooler and spend the most you can on the GPU now(ish) imo
