Hey all, I'm looking for advice on a £700 gaming PC that I plan to assemble for my son for Christmas.

Looking for it to run Battlefield 4 and F1 2015 smoothly enough with reasonably good graphics. If it could handle Fallout 4 that would be a bonus. My son watches a lot of Youtube and video streaming too.

I'm fairly settled (but not rigidly so) on a standard black tower case, an Intel CPU (but confused by the myriad of choices), motherboard with on-board sound, and a Radeon R9 380/380x graphics card.

Any recommendations would be very welcome and most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Sorry for being too vague. The monitor (Samsung S22D300HY 21.5 inch LED HDMI Monitor), keyboard, mouse, etc. are not needed for the build as they will be presents from other members of the family.

The build will need to include Windows 10. Here I'm assuming from it's inclusion in other builds that it is supported and stable enough to be a good choice.

Thanks again.

Dave

Personally I would get a z** Board and a k processor, so you can do some decent overclock to get more bang per buck.

Don't pull the trigger on anything just yet though pal, all the balck friday deals are up today and tomorrow. We know for a fact that there will be a 390 for £205 so that should really be you card of choice.

Also you've picked an mATX board and an Midi case. They will fit but just letting you know you can put an actual ATX in that case :)

I'm on my mobile so sorting you out a spec right now is too much effort. If no one has done it by later I'll give you my £0.02.
