hi all, thanks for stopping by :)

Our cream leather sofa is looking a bit grimey, can anyone recommend a product or solution for cleaning it up easily ?

don't want to just get stuck in with something incase i damage the hide

thanks

There are various products out there which will do the job, but tbh i would check with manufacturer to be on the safe side.

When we had a leather sofa we used wet wipes on it and it work a treat ;)

Google it, but unless you use something really strong like concentrated flash I dont think there's too much of a problem.

The most simple and cheapest thing to use is a bar of moisturising soap, nothing special just the stuff like your missus would buy. Use a wet/damp cloth, rub the cloth on the soap to pick some up then clean the leather with the now damp and soapy cloth.

My Dad use to sell leather furniture and recommends Dove soap and a damp cloth then buffing it with a soft towel.

The best way and this is coming from someone who worked in a furniture shop part time :p is a damp cloth, failing that only if you must is to use a Leather Cleaner and Rejuvenator kit, the one like Mattey1 suggested, you can by bottles of cleaner for £2 in your local supermarket or splash out for the expensive stuff to me there’s no difference apart from the smell, just make sure you don’t overload the leather in chemicals and water :) or say hello to cracks.

we've always just used soapy water, seems to work a treat tbh, there are specialist soaps out there but we've never bothered personally.

I've worked in two furniture stores and both were happy to supply past customers with cleaning solutions and even correct colour dye for their couches for free :)

You could try that?
