Hi all,
I am looking at pre-built bundles online to finally make the jump from decades of console gaming. I understand individual games require a minimum spec to run at a decent level and am left scratching my head and watching YouTube videos trying to decipher what I actually need. My budget max is £1500 and I mainly want to run FarmSim22 with mods.
I have checked online the minimum requirements to run the game, but am completely at a loss to what any of it means in relation to what I’m looking at when shopping for a PC. Please can someone point me in the right direction or recommend me a decent level ready to play bundle to purchase?
Thank you for any help!

The game minimum requirements are as follows, but obviously would like something that won’t struggle to run sim games.

  • OS: 10.14 or newer.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3330 or AMD FX-8320 or better.
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM.
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 660, AMD Radeon R7 265 or better (min 2GB VRAM, DX11/DX12 support)
  • Storage: 35 GB available space.

The recommended specs are pretty easy to meet and could be done below budget.

This has gaming performance around double the recommended specs (Ryzen 5 1600 & RX 570/GTX 1060) and can play pretty much any current game @ 1080p:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £761.83 (includes delivery: £11.98)

If you wanted higher performance and to be on a new platform, then something like this (note my changes to the spec in the description):

My basket at OcUK:
  • 1 x OcUK Gaming Oxygen - AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, GeForce RTX 4060Ti Gaming PC (SKU: FS-1BZ-OG) = £1,306.00
    • Case: 1 x SYSTEM OFFER - APNX Creator C1 Blue Mist Limited Edition Mid Tower Case
    • Memory: 1 x Kingston FURY Beast EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-44800C36 5600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KF556C36BBEK2-32)
    • Graphics Card: 1 x SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture
    • M.2 Solid State Drive: 1 x WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T2X0E)
    • Operating System: 1 x Build Stock Microsoft Windows 11 Home Advanced - Systems

Total: £1,306.00 (includes delivery: £0.00)

The above could play any current game at 1440p and is around double the gaming performance of the Ryzen 5 5600 & RX 6600. You could swap the 7800 XT for a 4070 or 4070 Super, if you prefer nvidia.

Thank you for the reply, can I use this components guideline to purchase a plug and play system? Or can I only shop this way as a DIY set up?

The second system is already a plug and play system, but the first one, this is roughly equivalent (though note my changes to the spec again):

My basket at OcUK:
  • 1 x OcUK Gaming Kestrel Micro-ATX Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen 5 AMD Radeon Graphics (SKU: FS-18J-OG) = £989.00
    • Case: 1 x Kolink Citadel Glass SE ARGB Micro-ATX Gaming Case - Black
    • Processor: 1 x AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core 4.6GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail
    • Memory: 1 x Kingston HyperX Fury Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C18 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit
    • Graphics Card: 1 x Asrock Radeon RX 6600 Dual 8GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card
    • Primary Solid State Drive (M.2: 1 x WD Black SN770 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T3X0E)
    • Operating System: 1 x Build Stock Microsoft Windows 11 Home Advanced - Systems

Total: £989.00 (includes delivery: £0.00)
