Hi guys, advice for a cheap upgrade please.

I’ve had my old Packard bell I-media for 14 yrs now and although the case still looks like new I think it would be a bit of an understatement to say it’s a bit tired and slow now.

Its an ATX case and was wondering if I could throw £50 at it and get a cheap second hand motherboard, processor and a bit of memory to stick in it.

At the mo it’s a 1.8ghz with 2gb ddr (max allowed)

Can anyone recommend a good motherboard – maybe a Pentium 4, 3.4ghz or any better ideas? On a tight budget.

Thanks.

If you need second hand components then they are only avalible to purchase in the members market. You need a certain amount of posts to qualify for access to the members market so you will have to look on a well known auction site.

I wouldn't spend any money on a 14 year old computer ,save your money and buy a cheap new build.
