advice needed on op install on alienware ssd

The second HD cage has a transposer and addtional screws, look carefully, you'll see it, if not then don't worry about it, two screws won't matter too much TBH.

If you don't intend to use your laptop using the battery or not using the battery much, then i'd be tempted to press Fn F7 and turn off the HD4000 as its mostly for power saving.

As for the second HD and mSATA, well I take it the mSATA is still installed and you just need to install the second 500GB. Install this, configure the BIOS RAID options, reboot and then using intel rapid storage manager setup the mSATA as a cache to the 500GB job done, format and away you go..

ok turned off the hd4000 using fn f7

and ive just installed the 500gb hard drive, it still says its got the os on it (i dont know, but am i right in thinking its still got the alienware partition on?)
what is the best way of formatting it first? or do i try to put it in raid first (if indeed raid isnt already set up, it was when i bought it i think as standard with the cache drive, im pretty sure thats what a tech guy told me ) ?

i watching a video on you tube and the guy said if you enable raid it will wipe everything on the machine, so how do i make sure that raid isnt on my ssd so that only my cache and 500gb hard drive (not the m4)

im pretty sure raid was enabled before i installed the ssd, does that mean in theory it still should be and i can just do the intel thing?

i went into disk management and its showing my m4 ssd as disc 0 then its showing -

disk 1
basic
465.76gb
online

39mb healty (oem partition) recovery 8.73 gb ntfs healthy (active primary partition) , os (E:) 456.98 gb ntfs healthy (primary partition)

if i format it will it format all of it like i want to?

You can just format Disk 1, and if you didn't mess about with RAID when you installed the SSD, then once you format disk 1, you can use intel rapid storage to cache to the mSATA.

Update the drivers to the latest CAT 13.2 Beta 4, VERY good driver.

hey mate

think im going to put these on my new r4, came with the dell drivers preinstalled according to driver easy this is what version it is (dont know any other way of checking) ,driver date 03-07-2012, driver version 8.934.2.0

is there a good way to uninstall the old driver, or is it just a case of installing the new one and it will remove them
