Advice needed on second hand camera

My old Fuji digital camera is on its last legs so I need to replace it.

A work colleague is selling his Fuji Finepix S5600 with case, cables , manual and a 1GB xD card and is asking £50.

As I do not know much about cameras, ( I am whats called a happy snapper), is this a good deal, or are there better bargains to be had.

Well the s5600 was a pretty capable little camera in its day, and I'd say £50 certianly isn't a ripoff. However its getting on a bit now, and you might be able to find more recent models for not a whole lot more if you shop around a bit.

Thanks for that reply, I think I will buy it of him, as I only take occasional photos and it would suit me.
I only asked the question because it is that long since I brought a camera, and with all the different specs, I was not sure if it was a decent buy or not.
