Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I got a SM2032 and this is my first Widescreen monitor on a PC and also my first TFT on a PC. I wonder what resolution is best to use on the desktop, as at the moment I got it in 1024 x 768 and it looks stretched out.

When I try some thing like 1280 x 1024, then I get a better looking picture, but the text is small and hard to read, even altering the text size in IE7 view menu don't help. Any advice on widescreen resolutions in desktop would be appreciated, as the games look absolutely stunning on the monitor.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

it's always best to run a TFT at it's native resolution, and in this case, it's 1680 x 1050. you may need to install the monitor driver before your GFX card detects that res, but give it a go :)

with the graphics card your using go to nvidia's website download the latest drivers and you should get the option to change the res to 1680 x 1050 like Baddass suggested,my sons got the one up from yours at 22" but running at them res,for desktop and normal 2d applications it should be fine ,the only time it might let you down is when your running demanding 3d apps/games because of the 256mb gpu memory...

Thanks all for the advice, I have got to update my sig as I have got the 8800gts 320 Mb card. The problem I still have is that all the writing is small when I try to read the web things. Thanks again though.

I found the text very small after changing to a larger TFT also. You can change the size of the text you are trying to read in the tools panel; on Mozilla Firefox anyhow.Makes it a lot easier to read.
