Ok so im on the worst network going, Three. I sold my contract phone because I needed money for car insurance at the time. Long story short I now have the LG U300, its rubbish, and according to 3 is a 2g handset, so after 5 mins of turning it on, it looses signal and says 'Inactive uSim' So i need a new phone, and I use the site gsmarena.com to look at tech specs and have noticed that there are 2 types of 3g, UMTS (old) and HSDPA (new) the LGu300 is UMTS so i figured that must be why... But the phone I want is also UMTS but is quite a bit newer (the Nokia 6500 Slide). Can anyone tell me if this phone works on 3?? Its so confusing which phone will work and which wont...

cheers, Dan

You're completely wrong. That phone is UMTS for a start - it even says so on gsmarena, second line down no less.

IIRC This is an error commonly found when you use a stolen phone that has been barred or the phone is locked to another network not of the SIMs origin (ie a 3 SIM card in a locked, Orange handset) or option number 3 - SIM dead. A 6500 slide would work, assuming it was not locked to a network.

You should probably call up 3 to get this sorted, only they will be able to help - not us.
