Hello
Looking for some advice regrading a pc for my nephew after 15 years of playing wow I'm a bit out of the loop regrading modern pc specs required to play FPS games.

I've been informed he likes to play COD, rainbow six and games like that. He's also got a max budget of 1k. no monitor needed as he's got a Samsung odyssey 27inch 144hz.

Any help would gladly appreciated.

I will need to ask him tomorrow but I know it's very low spec

OK, just wondering as sometimes people think a system is EOL or no good and it could be easily upgraded. I had one recently and the persons son had a PC based an R3 1200 with an old B350 board that they picked up from eBay or similar, and thought it needed replacing. Popped in a new Ryzen 5 5500, an extra 8GB RAM, and swapped out the GTX 960 2GB for an RX 6600, and as they say 'boom' excellent system and less than £400 spent.

Just like to say this would make an excellent PC and very cost effective choices. If you were to go back 12 months you could not get anywhere near this performance/£ so it is good time to get into PC gaming.

Journeys advice is also good so find out if his current machine can be upgraded before you buy anything. A monitor is good to know but it is not the base machine so full specs are always helpful.

This doesn't have any bgrade components. If budget is at all flexible then a larger nvme drive would be an obvious upgrade. 3600cl16 memory is on sale for less than £70 and an MSI mortor board would be other things that I'd have suggested with a £1200 budget.

If you only take one thing from this build consider taking the case and psu bundle:-

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,000.75 (includes delivery: £0.00)
