Hi,all .
I'm a uni student(overseas), & new to this area but interested. That's why i need u tutors for help.My budget is nearly 1100 including the monitor ,which i prefer ASUS VK278Qs £289.99. So sorry the OC wont supply this brand.:)
The PC is mainly used for MATLAB,ORCAD, and FPS games like COD,also i'm a fan of HD movies but i normally watched them online so no blue-ray included.
I build a rig myself (no monitor inc.) Would u pls help me 2 cut it down to less 900?

Also i'm more concerning about the future. cuz i will keep the PC for next 2years. Thats why i apperiate all kinds of help from u guys.
Thank you so much ~~~

Looks nice...

Personally, I would:
  • Add an SSD; strorage drives are what will be bottlenecking a system like this.
  • Switch the 2600k to a i5-2500k as the performance in gaming is negligible.. Buy the OEM versions.. don't buy a bundle
  • Remove the headphone amp is the onboard sound is fine
  • Remove the asaka fan.. its simply snake-oil
  • Remove foam kit (reduce your prices)
  • Do NOT buy that keyboard.... Why pay £70  . Get something like the Sidewinder X4
  • Buy a monitor off OCUK > here's an example: CLICK ME

Good luck :)

Swap the 6950 to a Gtx 480.
Swap the H50 for something like this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-029-CM&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

Now your down to £923.00 :)

Why have you chosen to keep that keyboard..?

With the sidewinder it would be BELOW £900

i dont know which is more safer..is i5 real 4core? i thought it may burnt for 2
Thank you ,

Yes the i5 is 4 cores

hehe ,...i watched several video on utube., i really envy those keyboards with cool LED illuminated..
i will check GTX480,but wont be 2 much difference with a OC verision like 6950.
Could u pls tell me is there large diffence between the water cooling and fan ?
i care about the noise, cuz the PC will be in my bedroom.
And Predicament, would u pls give me some advice with offer? i really dont know whether i should refuse it or not. it seems cheap. But i really enjoy the moment now,2 learn how 2 build my rig.....haha......really confused now

regarding the mouse and keyboard there is NO point in paying that much for them IMO

I have these two atm

they do the job perfectly, this would get you down to your budget, and the keyboard does light up :)

there is not much different between the pre built water cooling kits and air coolers tbh, you can get a pretty insane overclock from an i5 2500k on air, and no it wont be too noisy if you get a good cooler (ask someone else about the quietest)

good luck :)

Thank you guys .nobody agreed with the £730 offer above?
since that, i list my basket below:(thx 2 u , it now belows 900) would u pls help me to check is everything ok?....still a bit less confident with the GFX card and mobo, it is said that ATI6950 can easily flash 2 6970.While i heard nothing about GTX480,though it is definitly a good card for gaming from brech mark.
Also do u think my mobo is 2 cheap ...so cheap makes me nervous.
Just in case, none of u agreed with the £730 one ,r u ?
Could u pls let me know why?

The list:

Thank you again for ur help.....Mind if i asked u 2 introduce some LED monitor about 24-27 inch, with a cheap price? since my budget will run out with this new rig as i was supposed 2 buy the used one. :P

Guys ..need help again
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-202-CM
As u know, i choose i bundle 2 save money ,
But when looked at it carefully ,i found someone complain it ,coz its not a modular 1..... i have no idea about the difference .but i'd like to hear some advice from u . will it fit my rig and further with this case?
Coolermaster CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black
750W is enough for my PC ,isnt ?
thx

i know little about HD5870,but i will try 2 get a max res for a 27 inch monitor with Crysis2,n i do wanna 2 keep the card for next 2 years. Brech mark for HD5870 is lower than GTX570? 1GB memory enough ? i knew its a good card ,what i mean is it is now falling behind by the current ones

i may go for a CF in the future... do u think 650W is enough for CF?
if i choose 650 W modular n i do prefer a aluminum case without window side,
would u pls give me some advice? a cheap budget will be better.
Thx
