Advice needed: Rust and bubbling content within

Evening all,

Just wondered if there are any bodywork experts on here that can offer some advice about some rust and bubbling I have noticed coming through on my Z4?

I'm guessing that I'll need to take the car to a bodyshop specialist, what sort of thing would be a reasonable recommendation based upon my rather shoddy pictures below?

that rust is coming from behind the panel. so cut out and replace or new panel time, especially with how had that lip is

Does the car still have bodywork warrenty ? it looks like the rust is behind the paint, might be worth checking.`

The problem is that by the time you can see it on the surface like that it can be quite bad behind the scenes on the inner panels quite often.

Only way to know is to cut that bit out and see what's lurking

Argh, yes I agree, what a pain. It wouldn't have a bodywork warranty as it's an 06 car.

Lost an MX5 to rust and don't want to start sinking £££'s into this only to get the same result!

correct you need to jump on it now not in a few months time, i know its tempting to leave it whilst good weather or even to have someone do a quick repair but trust me cut it out and see whats salvageable behind it may not at this stage be as bad.

Seeing rust like this is what puts me off older cars, seems like they all go after a certain age. Unless you can DIY it it wouldn't be cheap to fix at a bodyshop.
