advice needed with Nuisance caller

have just got a brand new phone had it about 2 months only really starting using it last few weeks as im using my old mobile aswell which i use for work.

The only ppl that have my new number are family and a few close friends and work mates ,last week or so im keep getting calls from the same mysterious number which starts off with 075 which i believe is a O2 number not that helps.
The person that keeps calling just says nothing then puts the phone down after 20-30 seconds this has happened about 30 times this weekend.
ive looked on my phone and i cannot block one number, only all calls which is no good is there anything i can do apart from changing my sim which will no doubt cost me money?

Odd, I swear o2 can do this, could be wrong though.

Maybe there's an app which can block incoming calls?

Or you could just change your number...but I mean...it's a brand new one, it could be a simple as it's a reused number which someone is phoning accidentally?

there is know way the person is calling by accident believe me, ive had about 30 calls today all of which the person does not say hello when i answer and then says nothing for 30 seconds then puts the phone down.
This is not by accident you know when someone is calling you to be a pain in the ass and torment

What kind of idiot nuisance caller makes calls and doesn't hide their number?

so someone has rang my number for the last week everyday numerous times does not speak when i say hello then hangs on the phone for 30 seconds then hangs up. if thats not being a nuisance caller i dont know what is

That's true, did you ever try calling it back?

yes i used another phone with a withheld number right after they rang me to see if the number was geniune had the same response silence then they hang up,will ring up my mobile provider tommorow and ask for a new number no big deal as only 40 ish ppl have the number so i can just text new number again

I'm not disputing the fact that they are nuisance calls, I'm wondering why if said person wished to make nuisance calls they don't try and at least disguise their number.

oh sorry , yes dosent seem right you would think the number would be withheld when ringing me very strange
