Advice Needed

Hey eveyone at overclockers, just looking for some advice of building a buget gaming machine. So far I have managed to pick up a Coolermaster ATC-410-SX1 for cheap as well as a free 7800GT, Im pretty set on getting some GeIL 2GB but mainly need some advice on a motherboard and processor, I want to overclock the proccesor. Looking around the £135 mark for both. The Abit KN9 nForce Ultra caught my eye but I don't really have a clue on motherboards. Any advice apreciated.

Welcome to the forums, I know this is a bit over your budget but they overclock very well together and Core2Duo is better than AM2 on a price performance basis normally.

Hey thanks for the advice, I think I could stretch to that, what speeds can these overclock to with the standard heatsink to start with.

I can't guarantee anything but I do know of people who have got upwards of 2.5ghz on the standard heatsink and some closer to 3ghz which is a huge jump over stock but it does realy on being a bit lucky as well. I think there is still a thread on the E4300 in the CPU sub-forum if you want to have a check.
