I'm deciding if I should upgrade my current spec:

P4 3.0ghz
1GB
x800GT

I know this is very out of date and I do need a upgrade. I don't have a big budget(£500) but I do have a monitor, hard drive and DVD drive. I will mostly be using this for gaming but at the minute im not playing anything that is a graphics powerhouse.

I've come to two setups;

I will buy a graphics card a bit later (around Christmas) with this setup and use my x800GT

or

This has a decent graphics card which I'll probably have to upgrade anyway.
I wont be over clocking from the start but will probably do some later.
So what would you pick? :)

Looks good to me, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I upgraded from a spec similar to your current one and the difference was massive :)

If you are not struggling with performance in games then there isnt really much need to upgrade as of yet.

This is the problem though. I have to run most games on medium to low without any other effects. Although the system has served me well for 2 years its time for an upgrade :D

Ah you confused me with this:

In that case you should spend the most on graphics, a 8800GTS 320 would be ideal.
