Hiya,

A friend bought a system from OCUK and it was delivered today. He is a bit of a noob when it comes down PC's and things.. Anyway, he plugged it in, switched it on and got as far as vista asking for the product code (serial #) he decided he would do that later as he couldn't find the serial # (duh on the side of the PC) Anyway he can get no further no than the IP35 Pro splash screen upon bootup. Delete doesn't work to get into bios either.

This is all from what he has said on the phone. Has anyone any idea how to resolve his issue.

By the way he bought the PC Builder, Gamer Vantage package Q6600

Try taking the battery out of the motherboard and see if that lets him get into BIOS,then Load Optimized Defaults.

Hi,

The problem is he having is no sooner he reboots and the PC posts, it sticks on the splash screen of the Abit IP35Pro splash screen and goes no further. He then has to use the clear cmos button on the back and it starts fine again.

The only thing i can think of is it being a memory timing issue or voltages. Everything is at stock. Q6600 @2.4 with 2GB OCZ 6400 CL4 memory.

Advised him to ring OcUK in the morning.
The only reason he got the PC is due to me advising him to buy one from here as I am pretty pleased with mine, although I opted to buy the ultima system, whereas he bought chose the PC Builder option (unclocked)
