I have always used a pay as you go phone, as mine is over 3 years old I need a new one.
What is the best value for a pay as you go phone.
I very rarely text, it is only used as an emergency phone but some of the buttons on my phone do not always work.
Any advice will be appreciated.

I would go with virgin if I was choosing a pay as you go tariff. There tariffs seem to be good value for money also I like the fact you dont need any credit to listen to your voice mail!

Thanks for that reply, is there any difference in the actual phones, ie Nokia, Motorola etc, or are they all reliable?.

Although I have a Sony Ericsson C905 now "Nokia for the win" had well over 30 in tenish years. I like them and they can take a fare thrashing, I guess the best way of looking at it is if the phone does less, the less chance of anything going wrong!

This phone here is a fiver but you have to pay another tenner for a top-up in order to get it. So 15 notes for a phone and a tenner worth of credit. If you're just looking for cheap and cheerful, it might be worth considering.

I don't know what the limitations are on the top-ups - I'm sure you can dig around further if needed.
