I have the following:-
GPU: 2x ASUS MATRIX HD 7970 PLATINUM (Crossfire) To be water cooled.
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
2x EK-FC7970 Matrix - Acetal+Nickel
Corsair 900D ( on Pre-Order)

This is my problem....for me to run both cards x16, I have to put them in pci slots 1 and 4 on my mobo.

I want to use a bridge to water cool both cards, but because of the large space between the cards, I`m not sure if there are bridges long enough just to connect the 2 cards :confused: or is my option only to use just tubing as I want it to be sturdy as the GPU blocks are heavy.

I had this problem, and there was no way round it for me. The tubing did support it well for me though. Some pics in my sig.

Running them at X16 or x8 wont make a visible difference at all. I doubt even benchmarks will show a clear difference.

2% is nothing IMO.
If you were talking about FPS. X16 would get you 100 and X8 would get you 98. Would fluctuate so much that you wouldnt notice.

Do you already have the blocks?

XSPC do flow bridges for 2/3/4/6 slots.

Like this

But obviously they'll only work on the XSPC blocks.

I ordered the 4 slot (from a competitor) to use in my Rampage IV Formula for the same reason (16x/16x) but I got sent the wrong one (2 slot) & I used it as I had my PC in pieces waiting for the delivery. I didn't lose any performance that I could tell going to a 16x/8x config...
