Advice needed

My question is what kind of performance gains am I going to get in terms of gaming, I currently run a GTX 780 3GB, would it be better to upgrade the video card instead?. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What monitor (resolution/frequency) are you gaming on?

780 is still a pretty decent card, the new offerings from nvidia dont really offer a big performance upgrade.

You should be grand on your current setup, the CPU is decent enough and especially the GPU is also great

Do you not get enough FPS or so? Why do you want to upgrade?

I am getting told a lot that my CPU will be bottle necking my GPU, I usually get about 75 percent GPU usage so I assume that's correct and with CPU intensive games like GTA V coming out I reckon I will need a much better CPU than the one I have. I am getting around 50 fps on farcry 4 on high and some very high settings.

Hmm, what motherboard do you have? You might be able to slot in the likes of an 8320 which iirc is a bit better
