Hi all im after a graphics card that can handle a 2x 20" pc monitors DUPLICATED desktop with a 70" lcd tv monitor EXTENDED desktop.
I have it working at the moment on an old control system we have but pc is dying and needs a new GPU.
At the moment they have a DMS-59 (i think its called that) with a y lead going into 2x VGA then 70" monitor going direct whilst the 2x 20" pc monitors go into an active vga splitter.

Hope thats not too confusing and someone could help me spec a GPU that maybe has vga + dms-59?? iv been looking on ocuk but not sure if the combo's will work.?

Thanks

hi sorry, 70" res is 1920X1080 im not sure on the pc monitors i guess prob the same?
its for a funeral chapel so the 70" is for powerpoint presentations and the 2 pc monitors are for monitoring and making the slidshows to drag across to the 70" for the service to be presented.
hope this is the info you need.

So they won't be playing 2x high-definition videos simultaneously then, I assume?

Just about any GPU will do the job well then...

How old is the PC?

I assume it has PCI-Express, at least?

This will do the job fine:

From the way you describe it, it sounds like they are using 1 display output currently from the PC... which is split into 2x VGA connectors with 1x VGA going direct to the 70"TV and the other going to a splitter box which powers both small screens?

If so, then both of those cards will be ok, they should come with a DVI->VGA converter in the box - if not, you may need one of those also.

Then you also have the option to connect the TV by HDMI, however it may not be easy to run a new cable, but it's an option.

correct just pictures that the customers supply them for a slidshow no high def stuff.
I am currentlly speccing the pc as we speak so it will have PCI-Express yes.

Thankyou for your suggestions.

edit: i was looking at this one as i think they want to spend a tad more on it.

Would that work as it has vga + dvi?

thanks

Yes, it would work... but it's absultely pointless for the intended use of the machine, just a waste of money.

Displayport is also easy to convert to VGA.

You're speccing the whole PC? I thought you were just replacing graphics card in existing machine.

If you're building a machine from scratch... just stick with onboard graphics... especially latest Intel chipsets, they officially support 3x 4K outputs with video playing on all outputs... so it's still more than you require ;)

I imagine this will be hidden away in a cupboard somewhere etc too, intended to be used for a long time etc?

Be sure to consider dust buildup etc... filters or fanless build.

An HTPC style fanless build would be my recommendation... could do something decent for only £500 ish.

its sissting in a small 21u rack in an office, we have got fan tray in rack, we also have a maintanence contract with them so every month a cover off suck up the dust etc.
