My cousin wants to build a gaming pc (wants to use Skyrim mods) and has budget of £1k maybe £1200. This is what he's put together:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 12400 = £182

- CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 GB Black Edition = £48

- MOBO: Gigabyte B660 DS3H AX DDR4 = £150

- RAM: XPG Spectrix 16GB D45G = £90

- SSD: Crucial P2 CT1000P2SSD8 1 TB Internal SSD = £73

- GPU?

- Case: NZXT H510 Flow Base = £60

- PSU : Corsair RM650 = £80

Don't suppose their is an amd equivalent?

Wow thanks for the info @Craig_d1

I can probably source an Asus 3070 for £450, will that be good for mods?

I like the Lancool II case but seems like need to buy separate attachment for £13.

Is 650w good for enough with 3070? Is it better to just go with that 12400 instead of 5600? He'll be doing gaming and some graphics work I think.

After a hiatus, he is looking to proceed, convinced him to go for 5600 instead of 12400 but don't think he'll wanna do mods. 5600 still the way to go?

This a good PSU? Cooler Master MWE 850 Gold V2

Depends on the price, @ £130 odd the 5600 non-X is usually the best value, if there are decently priced boards available.

How much is it? What other options do you have? The Thermaltake GF1 has been on offer lately and that has a 10 year warranty, decent build quality and reviewed well. The Phanteks AMP 850 is £130 @ OCUK (Seasonic built, 10 year warranty).
Looks like boards should be cheaper than what will go with 12400.

£95 but out of stock. What about Corsair CX750F RGB, 80 PLUS Bronze Fully Modular ATX RGB for £99?

Unless the model has been updated since the THG/TPU reviews, then from what I can see: it is only bronze rated, half the warranty (5 year) and lesser build quality compared to PSUs like the Phanteks AMP, Corsair RMx and EVGA G6.
Reviews that bad? Would you say minimum silver?
