Hi Overclockers,

I am getting ready to buy my first gaming pc. But before i do i need advice on what to get, so hopefully if i mention what i want it for i could be advised what to get.

Mainly i want it to play Minecraft but not the original version more to the version of Feed The Beast (Mindcrack/Ultimate) mods. Want to start my own lets play series and at the moment im only a non gaming laptop which struggles at tiny view and i dont get that full experience of minecraft due to restrictions, also texture packs i cant have so it be nice to have a texture pack. Other game i want to play is like Simcity, as you can tell im more of a creative games person. I wont be needing for games like battlefield or anything with high intense graphics due to being a console gamer.

As there is no min specs anywhere on mods like this its hard to choose a pc that fits around the game, so i need help?

How much do you have to spend?
Do you want it Pre-built from scratch or would you be willing to do your own build?

Minecraft I got running with a texture pack with a A6-5400k paired with 8GB of 2133Mhz RAM so it doesn't need the full shebang to get up and going especially with mods. A choice of both Trinity and dedicated could fulfill your specification

A pre-built one, like in the bundles i have seen on here. Spend anything upto £500. Thats what im looking for is something that's not over the top super powerful because i probably wont use it to its full potential. I just need something that runs it smoothly. I am just worried that i get just a basic gaming pc and find out i still cant play it on far view or normal view without it lagging.

That should do you nicely. Will handle Minecraft perfectly fine at max settings.

Few tips for minecraft - Install Optifine as a must! Will enable you to double your FPS or more by enabling the settings it adds.

Dedicate 2GB of RAM, nothing more or less, this will handle all the textures packs 256x resolution and the mods you need. 3GB if you start to get into double figures with massive mods like divineRPG and such.

never heard of optifine just looked it up and thought why didnt i think of this. I like the look of this pc looks nice, doesnt say what graphics card it is though. The onboard graphics directx11 graphics dont mean nothing to me.

It's a Trinity so it's bundled in the CPU, it's a 7660D intergrated graphics card and can crossfire with a HD 6670. However for Minecraft it is more than capable, it can handle moderate gaming with the likes of Battlefield 3 on Medium settings id I remember correctly.

Optifine is amazing and really does boost performance, Allows you to tweak almost anything, changing the rendering mode to multi-core is the best as you can utilise your CPU to the max.
