Hey all, i'm going to be putting a 3650 AGP into my system soon as it was given to me for free and it's a nice enough graphics card to at least get some use out of it, but anyway, it's recommended it has a 450w power supply minimum, but would you guys say a high quality brand/high quality PSU rated at 450w would be more than enough to cope with it? or would it be better going to say a 550w PSU? i'm sure 450w would be more than good enough, but i'd like to make sure anyway, thank you for your time

Edit: unless you guys thinka CX 400w will power it just fine, in that case i'll go for one of those, it can be reusable in the future so it'd be worth it, but just curious what you guys think as some of those AGP cards do have higher power ratings it seems, but any advice would be appreciated, thank you for your time

Well, according to reviews the the Corsair CX400 although rated at 400W, it can actually output up to 450W.

I can't see a standard system with a 3650 drawing anywhere close to 400W in the first place...

The 3650 AGP has a power draw of less than 75W so I wouldn't worry. Any modern PSU with decent amperage on the 12v rail/s will work. The ocuk swifts would probably be ok.

The 3650 is a low end card with low power usage it will be fine. Myself I was running 2x3870 and a q6600 on a coolermaster 460 for 2 years and am now running a 5850 on the same supply.

If a good quality 400 is not enough I would eat my hat... if I owned a hat that is.

Thanks guys, I thought the Corsair CX 400w would be enough but it's best to make sure, it's a high quality PSU so it should be more than capable of powering a HD3650 AGP i'm sure, but thank you for the help, it's hugely appreciated
