Advice on a lemon

Glorious, gloriously epic thread. DannyW never fails to amuse :D

Lemons... dont eat the skin, it doesnt taste nice.

Mondeos - Get a 2nd opinion on repairs, probably cheaper to pick up a 2nd hand engine and get some back street garage / friend to pop it in the car. Ebay shows plenty Mondeos' for spares and repairs. Just for the sake of all thats' sacred dont buy an engine from DannyW! :p

sorry just got here ummm is it the zetec? if so

"you wont find any info on these engines eg torque settings etc as you are not suppose to strip these engines" so Ford say.

as I work for a company who does engineering and we have sold many parts for these.if ya want to get piston rings I can hook you up with my work place tho I aint there at the moment im off ill but they will help you.

P.s we can all so get cranks, pistons etc etc and it is a very very trust worthy company

Just google

I've quoted this in the hope that someone might read this and actually help you..

That 325i is about the worst conditioned one i have ever, ever seen. That interior looks far far worse than my near 300k W124's did, and my old 125k 330i's interior still looked brand new, as does/did my 150k W220's and my 125k 996's.

Just what is going on with it? I am not sure given its history and condition that its even worth the £2.5k let alone the £5k (LOL!?) mentioned in that advert.

Also, who sells a 325i Sport WITHOUT an MOT? Unless its something extremely fishy and it was going to fail badly, then Danny has put a "postal" MOT on it? Even i can get a "postal" MOT, so i am sure Danny can.

I cant make sense of that car.

Christ almighty the man himself!! That BMW's interior  Did it sit in the sun all day with a pack of dogs romping around in it?

I really need to start paying more attention to the Motors section after classics like BMW's 'got held at gun point', 'spec me a nice drive, NVP's thread about his passenger and this thread!

I can't work it out either, my 325i has done 150,000 miles and still looks almost like new apart from very slight wear on the drivers bolster (which liquid leather will fix when I get round to it). Something is very very wrong.

It's not that odd, it's just clearly done a lot more miles and then been clocked (probably by DannyW).

Forgive me for sounding dumb, but what do you mean by 'postal' MOT?

An MOT done without the tester seeing the car.

Ie put in the post. At least thats what they are in this neck of the woods.

Maybe just a crooked one.
