Advice on a mobo....

...Hi all....I am thinking of putting together my first build and I could do with a little advice on the motherboard.

I am thinking of putting together a system with a Q9450, and I can't decide if I should get something like a MSI P7N Diamond or I should be looking at a board with P45 chipset. I was thinking the P7n would be the way to go as I may want to add a second nvidia graphics card at a later date if SLI'd cards start showing major performance gains. But that maybe some time coming so maybe I should go with the p45 and worry about SLI stuff much later...

re. SLI you really need to be running at very high res (1600x+), FSAA etc. settings on a large (24"+) monitor before a single top end card won't do you fine (especially as we have single slot, dual GPU cards like 9800GX2s).
Most people don't need Crossfire/SLI.

ok cool, thanks for the advice....I'll see what p45's come out in the next couple of weeks and go for one of those!
