Basically I've always bought the cheapy mats that cost like £3 quid in stores and are basically made of some sort of felt with a rubber bottom. Now what I want is something that'll last.. soooo! I need suggestions, mouse pad descriptions are slightly vague so I'm not quite sure what materials they are made from. I've been told glass mouse pads are crappy but then others say they're amazing, I know its all down to personal choice but I need some help!

Anyone suggest something? As long as the price ain't silly I'm open to it!

Anyone have experience with that Roccat pad? or the Razer Exact?

Its down to how much friction you want. Most "pros" like high control and the majority of fps pro players use cloth. Low friction is favored more by casual players wanting a glidy surface and so a glass or metal pad is needed. And then there's in between the 2 with plastic pads.

If its purely on durability then the ice mat is the best. I prefer cloth though and I just get a new one every year. Everglide Titan and razer make the best.

Problem is with cloth mats, I have a girlfriend who just loves to put a coffee cup on my desk, usually smack bang in the middle of the mouse pad heh :p trouble is brewing!

But yeah I'm an FPS player, should I look into the Titan? it's nice and cheap I see also, how durable is it? does it pick up dirt fast etc?

It will keep its glide perfectly for around a year. Then just replace it. If you're happy with less friction and it wont negatively effect your aim then get a hard pad like the razer destructor....which is plastic and offers a nice level of control for a hard pad.
