Hi, as title really

Just got a Silverstone HTPC case GD09

The standard AMD Cooler that you get with the CPU is presently fitted (AMD Dual Core Athlon Black edition 7750 (AM2+))

Looking for a CPU cooler to fit that is quiet as HTPC is in lounge.

Do not want to spend too much if I can help it.

I know it is the CPU cooler as stopped the fan with my finger and case was quiet.

Thank you

most of this lot will be quieter than the stock AMD cooler.

I myself prefer a tower cooler, three alternatives below.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler £12.79
Total : £18.77 (includes shipping : £4.98).

The Adios will just fit

YOUR BASKET
1 x Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler £19.99
Total : £24.98 (includes shipping : £4.16).

YOUR BASKET
1 x Alpenföhn Sella CPU Cooler £18.95
Total : £23.94 (includes shipping : £4.16).

Thank you, still not 100% on what to choose. Hoped more people would chime in.

Will order on Monday so will see if any other replies.

Just want it quieter than the stock AMD Cpu cooler on it. As i know that is the noisy bit. Just do not want to spend money on one and then be at the same position.

The stock AMD cooler is a special kind of loud - really, really loud. As has been said any of those above will be an improvement. My choice would be either the Raijintek or Alpenföhn. Both well made units.

Thanks guys. I ended up ordering the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-002-RT From OCUK, got the obligatory Haribo as well as a Screwdriver in the case as well?

Only annoying thing with this cooler was had to strip HTPC down to remove motherboard as base plate needs fitting. That was slightly A) a shock and B) a pain in the back side.

But certainly a lot quieter now.

I think the installation brackets etc of the Raijintek needs a bit of refining, the coolers are really great, but a pain to install
