Hi, my spec is in my sig. I'm not a seasoned overclocker but I currently have a rock solid OC of 4.2 (not big time I guess but it's fine for me
)
I have ordered 2 x 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM and, rather than swap the RAM I thought I would add them to my current RAM. I know that they're a different spec (timings / CL) but my impression is that running two sets of dual-channel identical pairs for a total of 24GB would be better than 16GB on its own.
To get my current OC I just changed BIOS CPU multiplier to x42. CPU-Z reports my timings at 9,9,9,27 and Freq at 798 Mhz (1:6 ratio). After inserting the new RAM into the slots what should I do to make the most of my 24GB?
Temps are currently around 45 on full load; I don't want to go overboard on my OC but would like to dabble ...
