Bedroom idea with digital print

been playing around with revit abit and got an idea to design on my bedroom. Im goig to buy some inkjet wallpaper to print on, and print an image onto my bedroom wall, then give the other walls a colour wash effect of a colour that matches the image.
all design is to scale from items to walls, i've decided on the wall i want to do this on, which is one that ive had to knock through, so my initial drawings are actually wrong now, as there is a recess where the picture ends near the door and its not straight like the drawing, the the picture shall only go so far like so:

obviously colour scheme would change depending on drawing.

I first went abit mad and designed pretty much every wall to have printable wallpaper, but after working out costs and materials i thought it would be abit silly to actually go ahead and do this.. So i opted then to just do the one wall. Heres my inital crazy idea

anyways, ive came up with a few photos but unsure which one would look good. I could even maybe switch walls to the one with the wardrobe if it meant most the image was focused on the right hand side s its not blocked by the wardrobe

well ive been downloading images that are of 4000x4000 or above in hopes the image will be large enough. ive been using earthporn and spaceporn for high res images.

i guess its not to everyones taste, i just wanted to be different but now im trying to choose i dont know if it is a good idea, but my minds been set on doing it for weeks its too far to go back

i suck at revit
it took me a day of headaches just to work out how to draw the room, colour the walls and add a picture to the wall.. all the items and stuff i did in inventor and imported in, i thought revit would be easier than it is

Get it professionally printed and hung.

No really, most seasoned decorators would struggle to hang huge custom picture paper like that and get it perfect.

Not to mention even if you had A3 you'd have way too many seams for it to look good, not to mention you're asking for colour bleed and tearing problems. Better to get a pro wallpaper printer to do it.

Who said i was using A3?

My dad has about 4 different types of printer with different inks in each from sublimation to canvas, some go as large as 50" width rolls, which the wallpaper ill be using only needs a 24" printer anyways. and my Sisters Husband is a professional decorator, not that it would matter, as I doubt most decorators will have experience in putting up large image wallpaper! But I'll have seasoned help with all aspects

in regards to that website, it says

A good guideline is that the image must have at least 1 pixel for every millimetre of the wall mural. For example, if you want wall mural 400 x 250 cm (or 4000 x 2500 cm) in size, your image should be at least 4000 x 2500 pixels (10 megapixels).

my room is 320 x 240 cm

Sounded like you were buying into some crappy "can hang like wallpaper" con stuff. You didn't mention your dad had fancy kit!

haha, i wouldnt be trying it on a cheap office printer not a chance
the ink alone will cost the money but we get it cheap enough

300DPI is recommended for photos viewed at arms length.
My photo wallpaper (link above) looks grainy when standing close but looks great 1-2 feet away.

I was always going to think id get some distortion with the image as on a wall scale its only natural

Ive decided I cannot find a great sunset/sunrise/orange skyline so Ive created my own with filters and a decent 14mb (5616 x 3744)

Can someone give me a hand in choosing which is the best/not too overkill

just a little update on my progress..
had a nightmare from start to finish. fresh wall in place, plastered, painted as well as rest of room. fresh skirting boards, but for the last 3 days ive been trying to get printer to work as light magenta was acting up. a service tonight has got it running smooth, but unfortunately at a price of wasting too much paper.

I now have to lash a further £45 for a new roll, but will have 15 metres left spare so could always do another wall elsewhere. the cost will probably be around the £100 mark with 16 metres left and used ink, which isnt bad.

well thought id give an update since this project is officially compete! :headbang:
you can see on the paper the 2nd stirp is slightly off. the magenta must have dropped a little when printing, which im slightly gutted about to the point i may strip it and reapply another at some point.

managed to print the blinds and get a local blinds company to cut it down and fit it to a proper aluminium roller for £25. total with canvas and inks inc comes to £35... if you switch the light off you can see a little glow from all the white, not too much to be annoyance just cool dim
