Hi all

I have a network cable coming from my router into a network hub....I will be ugrading it to a switch soon though.

Now on the network hub I have a PC that runs CAD,CAM software and I want it to retain the internet access as I need it for designs etc.

All so on the network hub I have other computers that run CNC machines
What I want to know is can I completly block the internet on the computers that run the CNC machines as I cant afford for any inturuptions on them when there running

BUT

I must still be able to access the CAD,CAM pc and vice versa VIA network.

Is this possible if so how would I do this on XP.

Thanks all

Sorry whats DG :P and doing it that way will completly remove any inernet as it auto updates or any other silly thing that could take up CPU time when the machine is running?

Thanks to both for answers

Sorry to dig up an old thread and yeah just got round to setting this up LOL

I try to type in the IP address for the default gateway and when I type 127 on the 7 it says this is reserved.

Im on WINXP please advise.

P.S

I am in local area connection properties and trying to type this into the internet protocall section where it asks for

IP
subnet mask
gate way

etc etc

Hi well i have set the DG to 1.1.1.1 and I cant access the net but me win7 pc can still access it.

But now it seems (may be coincidence) that other pc`s are allso struggling to connect to certian sites weird or what?.
